ROAD
CLOSURES

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, several roads in downtown Port Colborne will be temporarily closed during the 2027 Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival.

As part of our commitment to attendee safety, you’ll notice hostile vehicle mitigation barricades at many road entrances throughout the festival area. These measures are in place to help protect pedestrians and festival-goers.

While vehicle access is restricted, all road entrances remain accessible to strollers, wheelchairs, mobility devices, and other walking aids. As Canal Days is a street festival, we encourage attendees using strollers, wheelchairs, mobility devices, or walking aids to use the festival streets where possible, rather than navigating along sidewalks. This provides a more direct and comfortable route through the festival and helps avoid unnecessary barriers created by curbs and pedestrian congestion. Please note, while accessible sidewalk ramps remain available where needed to access sidewalks, some storefronts and businesses along the festival route may not be fully accessible due to sidewalk displays.

For your convenience, road closures will also be visible in Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze, so you can navigate around the festival area with ease.

We recommend checking your preferred navigation app before heading out to avoid delays and find the best available routes.
